This originally appeared in Crisp Biscuit #1, way back in 1991, and it was the first comic strip I ever completed.  Not sure why I decided to leap right in with a twenty-pager when I'd never previously completed even a single page strip to my satisfaction (I had tried to draw a couple of strips before this but the stories were rotten and the artwork just didn't look finished at all, mainly because I'd hadn't drawn in any backgrounds) but I had an ending written that I was quite happy with this time and I finally managed to put in the required effort.  To be honest, nearly everything about this strip (story, art, everything) makes me cringe with embarrassment when I look at it now but it was quite well received at the time.  I've re-lettered this on the computer to correct some spelling mistakes (one of which was a major character's name, as I'd originally spelt Myrtle as "Murtle") and have slightly altered some of the text here and there.  Interesting fact: The real life Myrtle (Hi, Charlotte!) actually really liked this comic and bought several copies from me to give to her friends (I don't remember whether or not I actually charged her for them but, knowing me, I probably did).  Women.  Go figure 'em.
